About Compliance
The Compliance Section within the Registration Division, ensures that there is adherence to legal and regulatory requirements by the entities and relevant issues of services. Additionally, monitoring compliance to internal policies. The support of training, awareness programme and the design and implementation of risk management system.
To achieve these goals, the compliance section has the power to take the following compliance and enforcement actions:
- Conduct compliance inspections on the premises of associations and companies.
- Appoint an inspector to inquire into the affairs of a company on its behalf.
- Issue directives or directions.
- strike off a company or association for non-compliance with the relevant act.
- Issue public statements.
- Impose administrative penalties.
- Request information and production of records or documents from companies and associations.
- Conduct hearings for land disputes
- Ensure documents submitted for land transactions are in compliance with the relevant laws, if not the documents are returned to the lawyer or client
